West Yorkshire Schools Competition

wyorksgroup no headmsterWe launched the Bullying Stops Here poster competition in 2006 to help children identify and understand bullying behaviour. The curriculum-based initiative, supported by the NSPCC, Anti-Bullying Alliance and ChildLine, was open to hundreds of schools across West Yorkshire and invited pupils from Year 6 classes to come up with a colourful and imaginative design for an anti-bullying poster.

John Stead, regional co-ordinator for the Anti-Bullying Alliance, education advisor for the NSPCC and competition judge told us: "When children use art and design to express themselves the result is often very powerful - the entries to this competition were no exception. With bullying such a major concern for children and young people today, it's vital that we continue to do our utmost to keep the issue in the public eye and work towards creating a society where bullying is seen as unacceptable behaviour."
