The Official Anti-Bullying Week |
|
- We donated £5,000 to sponsor the Kirklees National Anti-Bullying Conference - We promoted the event on the sides of our Kingfisher vans - We created and launched the Hands Up If You're Against Bullying campaign to raise awareness and generate support The Hands Up If You're Against Bullying campaign invited celebrities, children and adults to make multi-coloured paint handprints on a huge pane of glass in order to register their stance against bullying. We had an overwhelming response - our initiative found strong support from celebrities across the North, including the cast of Coronation Street, Heartbeat and Emmerdale and members of Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club teams. We also gathered more than 500 handprints from children and adults during the Official Anti-Bullying Week itself and received national acclaim for our anti-bullying work. But the campaign doesn't end here. We're working with national charities and regional bodies to make sure the anti-bullying message is kept high on the agenda of councils, schools and organisations.
