Hands Up If You're Against Bullying |

To meet this popular demand we worked closely with John Stead, regional Anti-Bullying Alliance coordinator and NSPCC education adviser, to create a national online version of the campaign at www.handsupnow.co.uk Launched in association with several major national children’s charities and a raft of stars and personalities, the Hands Up website invites visitors to get creative and design their own ‘virtual handprint’ using an online art palette and interactive hand. The masterpiece can then be added to the online gallery, allowing children, adults and celebrities to make a truly individual contribution to a united stand against bullying – in effect, creating a huge national ‘show of hands’. ChildLine and Kidscape kindly contributed school resources and anti-bullying lesson plans for our dedicated ‘teachers’ section, while children affected by bullying can also access advice from Anti-Bullying Alliance experts via the website. In true Kingfisher style, some of the nation’s favourite celebrities and personalities have already registered their handprint on the Hands Up website including campaign ambassadors, Kym Ryder, who took part in our 2006 Hands Up campaign, and Amarillo star Tony Christie, along with Steven Gerrard, David Blunkett, Dick and Dom, Darren Gough and stars from Hollyoaks. Following the incredible success of our 2006 Hands Up If You’re Against Bullying campaign, we were contacted by a number of organisations, charities and customers who were eager to find out how the campaign would be continued in 2007.
